so the non reverse firebird is strictly guitar?
because i've notice that there are different bass body cuts out there.

Yeah to my knowledge, Guitars are called firebirds and the basses are called thunderbirds.

True.
The "typical" models you usually see are considered
reverse, and the non-reverse guitars and basses have both also been available with a different body style, considered non-reverse.
