An arcade button killswitch in an enclosure that clips onto a belt, or a pocket, wherever.

A short line would run from the instrument to to the hip-mounted killswitch box, and the line out into the other side of the box, effectively giving anything a temporary killswitch. to stutter or mute, just slap or tap the switch, mounted on your right or left side, depending on your dexterity.

Great idea? Bum idea? I've been tossing it around in my head for a while.

I've heard those arcade buttons can get triggered really easily.
Like by a bump or shake, supposedly.
That would likely make it a pretty poor candidate for a belt-mounted killswitch.

I dont see any advantage to one on a belt instead of one in the guitar. Its another piece of gear to lose or break and you would have to move your hand way out of the way to use it.

What's the point of a kill switch? I'm not trying to troll. Serious question.

Stuttering type effects. You can do your own rhythm and it less work than turning your volume knob up and down really fast.

I get some great oscillating effects using the kill switch. Set a fuzz up to oscillate at low volume settings. Crank your guitar volume. When you hit the kill switch mounted in the guitar it squeals. Sounds awesome in a chaotic way. Fuzz with controlled oscillation. :thumb:

I wouldn't use a killswitch, but an expression knob like that would be a must have for me.

It seems like you'd probably look like you're having dialysis with all the cables running through and around yr body. Would definitely get tangled up kinda quick. Plus, probably doesn't even have true-er bypass.
