Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place or not being adventurous enough but damn this year has been a bit disappointing so far. Apart from the new Tobacco I can't really think of anything I've really enjoyed. I'm up for just about anything at this point so if youse got any thang good please toss it my way.

The debut by The Amazing Snakeheads has got me feeling all 16 again. Been years since i got such a buzz from a new band.

Anyway, so far I've been digging 2014 releases from Ogre, Blood Farmers, Thou, Cibo Matto, and Mogwai. I hear the new Swans is good, too, but I haven't listened to it yet.

As for new Boris, I think I'm going to have to resign myself to the fact that I haven't really dug anything they've put out in ~6 years.

The first song they leaked is pretty cool, though



The second, not so much.

It sounds like generic Warped Tour Core, to me. And it's getting a pass because Boris has this incredible cache of goodwill that they're spending like water.

I do love the album cover, though.
