Hey Doomers,

I have 2 standard JCM 800 4x12 cabs (and a and a b) and the handles on both cabs rattle like crazy when I palm mute. I've had them both for a while, and they get a good bit of use at high volumes.

Is there any solution to this that you guys know about besides just jamming a towel in there? I'd like to permanently solve the rattle problem, and I don't care about affecting the looks or resale of my cabs. I just want them to stop rattling!

The stock handles are these guys:

Remove the handles.
Apply self adhesive weatherstripping (found at any hardware store) around the hole.
Replace the handles over the weatherstripping.
You've now cushioned the handles, and should have stopped the rattle.

That will work, I've also used adhesive weatherstripping that you can get at any car parts store. Neat, efficient and easy to apply, and if you ever need to take the handle off for whatever reason you can without battling adhesive that is joined to it. You just need a knife or scissors to cut it with.

I would also use some CA glue in the screw holes to give the screws something to bite on when you put it back together. Don't fill them, just let a bit of the superglue get in there and it will add strength and thickness to the existing wood.

This is what I was going to say, glue and some toothpicks. It always helps to have some wood in that glue otherwise it'll strip out just as easily as before.

old marshall handles are made like shit and rattle like CRAZY. I dgaf and flexseal the entire handle inside then on the outside edges i superglue the piss out of them.
