Has anybody compared the BitQuest Pitch effect vs a MicroPOG? How is the tracking? How are they different?

BitQuest Pitch is less good

Yeah, it has a bit more lag and isn't as stable as the POGs.

But for single note stuff its fine.

I need to do a side by side since I can.

Giant +1000 to BQ is that it's not octave only; maniacal chord voicing sound quite cool when I can dial them in well.

That is a very good point! Being able to dial in exact pitches to make chords out of single notes easily makes the BQ infinitely better than the micro pog.

Yeah you'll get a lot more bang for your buck with the bq

With the gain settings and everything you can basically get a pitch bay out of your bit quest. The tracking and octave sound will be pretty well the same as well, as both are based on the spin chip and as far as I know they are reading the pitch in the same way. Sounds that way in any case. Same thing with any Spin based pedal - Organizer, Rainbow thinger etc. POG tracks the pitch in another way and is better at it. But BQ is radder in all forms of the word.

The bitquest sounds good to me.

Pogs never get close to sounding like a 'real' twelve string to my ears, so the flexibility of the Bitquest wins.

Tuning the pitch shift up a 5th or 7th sounds brilliant too.

Oh... and did I mention it also does a load of other cool FX.

In short it's awesome

Yep, tuning to a fifth is great for video game tunes

I have a Second Voice that can do fifths but its analog so its kinda limited. Gnarly as shit though. I watched both of the long demos again last night and I am sold for sure.

Welcome to ILF! Great question, the two pedals use different processors and they don't have the same performance. The POG uses a much more powerful microprocessor and has a better pitch algorithm, the BitQuest is based on the Spin FV-1 and its pitch shifting is really more of a 'close enough for rock'n'roll' kinda effect. It takes a lot of processing power to do really accurate pitch shifting, have to be very fast and have a lot of memory, and the Spin isn't and doesn't.. the way you change the audio's frequency in the Spin results in a modulating sound, it's a warbly pitch shift, and certain notes you play will warble more if they're related timing wise to the algorithm's timing. Over all though, I'd say it sounds pretty good and tracks pretty well. I think if you played 7 Nation Army in front of a crowd they'd say 'yeah, ok, that's close enough'. :thumb:

It's also great for weird stuff though, like slight detuning for chorus sounds, and tuning chords, I love those sounds too.

Have you ever thought about an Epic Bitquest? Like the normal circuit but with an expansion so you could run two quests at once? Maybe not all of them, but certain ones that play well with others. Pitch shifting + bit crushing. Mmm. Ring mod + flanger. So many combinations! I would pay extra for an epic model. You could even slim down the expansion side somehow if it would make it less costly.

Alternatively, has anyone played with two of these at once?
