What would be a decent/fair trade?

I just had the thought of maybe trying to trade my Fender Hotrod Deville 410 for something comparable, but with 2 12s instead. Instead of putting up a CL ad for something that no one will trade to me....I thought I'd ask. What amps could I look for? Could I get away with asking for an older used Twin Reverb? I payed $600 for the Hotrod, and its still in great shape....

Also I'd have to find someone who wanted to trade, so there's that. I guess this is more just "thinking out loud" only....with text. On a computer.

Thanks.

The most comparable trade would be for the 212 version of the Hotrod Deville.
A few other nice 212s in that price range that are the Roland Jazz Chorus and the Ampeg VT-22.
You'd probably have to add some cash for the Twin but might be able to get a Bassman head or something similar. :idk:

You'll be far better off just selling it outright and buying what you want.

People usually don't switch from one heavy amp to another, and the 4x10 is a specific setup that not everybody loves.

Probably an old music man or ampeg. I have a traynor 4x10 and it'll never have anything of equal value. Sometimes selling to buy something is all you can do.

Wait, not everybody loves 4x10 combos? :idk: :p

I have to agree that selling and buying what you want would be the easiest option. They do make that amp in a 2x12 combo, so unless you have some gripes with your current amp... might as well go that route so you don't have to tweak your sound too much.

Pretty much what I thought. Im just trying to be lazy and have less hassle. Shouldn't be too much trouble trying to sell it. I just wonder if I can still get close to $600 for it.

Guessing the 450-550 range from what I've seen them listed at.

They don't get substantially more than a HRD 1x12 because few people want the weight/hassle.

I do like the 4x10 but prefer the balls of my 2x12.

yeah, I've been wanting something with more low end, but I've been having trouble acquiring it in an economical way.

When I had a DeVille, I traded it for an AC15 + $100.
I've seen DeVilles for ~$450, usually, in these parts.

Most people who want a different amp in that price range want something smaller or bigger than what they have.
So you could likely make a pretty good trade down to a smaller combo (AC15s are killer...).
Or also maybe you could get a head from someone looking to downsize.

Or maybe just add a separate 2x12 or 1x15 cab to your Fender to get the low end you desire...
