Sunn SPL 8028 cabs?

You know the ones with the single 12 and 18 inch at a slant on bottom? Anyone played these for an extended period of time? Whats a good price for one?

I bought a pair for 250$ and I dug the shit outta them. the 12 is a EV clone made by sunn ditto the 18. the 18 bottoms out faster then you think it should. that's a tiiiiny enclosure for it. you can run the drivers together with the built in cross over or separate, making it so you could have a clean or dirty mix.

the speakers ran at 4 ohms so it was handy having a 2 ohm capable v2 at the time. theyre deeper then "normal" cabs,20 inches iirc. I still have 1 in my garage, I fucking hammered the 18

if you can get into one for under 150 id consider it. over 150? save your money and buy a peeby 215 for the same era loaded with black widows.

Pretty much what i was thinking. I got to play one for about 3 minutes and it sounded decent but.....its almost 300 bucks and that seemed high.

I gotta admit though, the Yamaha b100 i played it with sounded good with it, i was even running it full range. The 18 rattled a bit but i think it might have been the grill

would've been a waaaay cooler cab if it was like 3 feet taller and all that extra airspace went to the 18

I had considered some huge ass 2x12 and single 18/15/21 cab for the f800b, it just doesnt work with the bass cabs i have on hand

Not around here sadly, the last one i saw was 300 bucks with 3 blown drivers
