Baritone Guitar Pickups

So I have a Paul reed smith mike mushok baritone. The pickups sound just fine. But I kinda want to switch them out. Something super high gain in the bridge and something sweet and mellow in the neck.
I guess over all I want something that can handle those lows really well, something that is both articulate and powerful.

I've been having amazing luck lately with plain old Seymour Duncan Distortion pickups. High output without destroying the clean tone, huge low end and mids and great clarity under high gain.
Neck Pickups?!?! What are these things your speak of?

SDs are certainly killer for the bills.
Dimebag, Distortion, Jazzbucker, Invader....I DIG EM.

Bareknuckle pickups are very heavy, tight and articulate while still having lots of vibe, if you wanna venture into something a bit less obvious than those TV Jones Filtertrons are probably pretty good for what you want to do as well.
On another note, try putting mallory tone caps in your guitar, this could also fatten and tighten up the sound considerably.

I've played exclusively in low tunings for years and (in the bridge) have used a Gibson 500T or a Dirty Fingers, though I think the latter might give your clean tone some more "dirt." My baritone has P-rails in it and I like them pretty good. They make a high-gain version, too.

Relative to my interests...
I've got a gibson P100 and a brand new GFS mini humbucker (LP deluxe type) laying around. I wonder which one would be the best improvement over the muddy fizzy stock pu in my eastwood sidejack baritone. Anyone any ideas?

What's the Phat Cat like? I had heard it didn't sound much like a P-90 as advertised, but seems like there are some fans of it.
