I saw this in a pizza shop and fell in love with it but can't figure out what it is.

Looks like it's probably Japanese. Also, looks like a refin.
I'll do some investigating.

Bound neck on the blue one. Pickup looks similar though.

Well, you know, Kosta, sometimes the internet's not good for much.
Even if I knew what make and model, sometimes there's just no info.
I think the one in the OP is the older of the two. Definitely same manufacturer though.

Hahaha. Yep. Shootin' in the dark sometimes. Could almost even be one of those Eastern European jams.

No, I'm pretty sure it's Japanese. I think that hardware is a dead giveaway.

I thought it was Italian but the bass in the one post has the same body and pickup. I'm sure it's Japanese. And I have decided that I must have it. How much does anyone think it's worth?

Used to see these occasionally and it's driving me crazy that I can't remember. Pretty sure it's a Teisco.

You're welcome, Bearstripes.
It's a pretty groovy bass. I don't know what it's worth, I probably wouldn't pay any more than $375 for one and it would have to be in really great condition for that price. A refin would be less.
I don't think it's a Teisco, Jero. That's what I thought at first glance as well, but I'm pretty sure it's not.

Yea, Teisco definitely made one like that, but this one is not. We shouldn't forgot, many re-branded makes of the same guitar have been made. If you look close at the head stock it appears there's a chrome plastic logo.
Here's a "70's Japanese Canora." It's not the same, but note the shape, head stock, and tuners.

You may be right, those pickguards are pretty similarly shaped. Bodies too.

I'm not convinced it's a Teisco, Jero. The one you posted is definitely by the same builder, but I'm not sure who that might be. If I had to guess, I'd say Matsumoku.
I found another similar bass. This one is branded as a Rhythmline:

That body shape is HOT!
