On the "surprised this hasn't come up as a topic of conversation yet" tip:

I just made with the clicky clicky download. Nothing like starting a day at the office with a song titled "Bongload!"

Other than actually starting a day at the office with an actual bongload...

Tried that once, looooooooooooooooooooooooong ago. Made answering the phones REALLY difficult.
And the 'tussin I chased it with didn't help either.
Though I suspect this album would sound great on that combo...

Are you saying it's never too late to get back in the game, coach?

I have never been able to get into this band, but I love their name.

'Tis a great name. What puts you off about the tunes?

That's the bastard part of it -- I'm not sure. They have that MBV/ear-friendly version of Psychocandy-era Jesus and Mary Chain thing going, which I really like, but I've just never been in a mood where I say/think "Today I shall listen to Ringo Deathstarr"

Yup, I know that feels... I certainly have bands I feel that way about...

They're like a better Silversun Pickups -- who are another band that I like well enough but never listen to.

I know the feeling exactly. Same with Wooden Shjips. Nothing wrong with these tunes or the previous stuff but I've never felt inclined to go out and buy an album from them, or follow up again..... this could tie neatly into that excellent psych thread that got bumped recently......
EDIT: or am I thinking of Sleepy Sun? Who the fuck knows/cares

I feel the same way about Wooden Shjips.
We are the same.

I think this is actually my favourite Ringo Release so far. I feel like they're finally starting to pull away from their MBV worship roots a bit.
Also, because I feel like they make the release way better, here are the Japanese Bonus Tracks for those interested:
https://mega.co.nz/#!qtRhDIBZ!TGNOLDvyO ... ORPQxsLxbs
Just replace "See You" with "Romantic Comedy", put "Frisbee" and "Convertible" at the end, and you have the Japanese edition.
