Jam space cohabitational gripes thread of perpetual sorrow

As the title suggests, pls share your anonymous passive aggressive conflicts between bands sharing a tiny, dirty room. Aside from the odd person dropping in to pick up gear, I have never seen any of my space mates and know them only from the occasional email that gets sent out from our space landlord and seeing their amps and gear at the space.... While typically harmonious living abides, there's always some form of dissent among room-mates who don't actually live together..... we jam in a large converted industrial space that's been sectioned off into little 10x10 rooms and we pay one guy to pay the company the owns the building......
Article A is: Get a hardware bag, you heathen....
I cannot describe how many times I've tripped over these stands and cymbals!!
However, this is a minor complaint overall. There used to be a band that left rotting take out containers everywhere, beer cans strewn on the floor, my stuff used by other people (this is THE ULTIMATE SIN) and once at our old space I got an email from the landlord complaining that the DOOR WAS LEFT OPEN (not just unlocked) and no one was around with everyone's amps, guitars and pedals on display..... pulled our shit out that same week and found another space. This was years ago. I hope no one has died......

Oh man, too many to list. So many times when I'd be in a band with a PA, and we'd say "Hey other bands - if you use our PA, please try to put the settings back to where we left them, ok?" only to find it cranked straight to hell when we'd come in to practice.
But by far, the worst was the band I shared a space with back in college. You couldn't leave your instruments in the space, because when you did, you'd come back to find broken strings and missing guitars straps. Once, a friend opened his guitar case to find every string on his guitar broken and blood all over the pickguard. Plus they'd leave empty beer cans and booze bottles around (like the place didn't smell bad enough already).
And then one of them left the window open over winter break, so the pipes froze and burst, flooding the space...
And THEN there was the time one of them wanted to jam with some friends (drunk), but had forgotten his keys in his dorm room... so he kicked in the door... which I discovered hanging from the hinges the next day when I went to practice... and I knew who it was, because when I called the guy to ask what happened, he described the whole thing, and apologized for not telling me sooner...
Let's not even go into rent collection... I hated being "the responsible one" who'd have to hound people for their share...

Oh fucking this. I forgot about this. Each band has "a day" and I do all the collection to the guy who runs our room, who pays the company, and what a headache... I've been doing it for years and the second I bring up rotating responsibilities everyone suddently has to go home or got sick or whatever.....
Like, I'm a fuckin' baller so a 20 here or a 20 there ain't no thang, but it adds up - I've recently collected from everyone as when I paid our April rent I was $380 in the hole (plus I spend a lot through work that I collect recipts for, that was about $300 too) but everyone's been good recently and paid with no problems. But I had some really annoying people in the last year who just didn't pay, then flaked out of the band, I calculate I lost, easy, $200 in the last 12 months on fucking deadbeats..... I could have bought a new delay pedal and some beer and even a pizza with that money!!
(all the guys in my band that I collect from are currently awesome and go out of their way to pay, but it wasn't always so....)

My jam space is currently my basement, but due to 5 roommates and their respective bands, there are a lot people in and out. The worst issue by far is my roommate keeping his cats litterbox down there. Absolutely ruins my mood for jam sessions.
Next I used to own the PA in the house, but it got blowed up when I wasn't around. When talk of repair costs were brought up suddenly nobody knew when how or why it happened. So now no PA.
Lastly, coffee mugs. Coffee cups. Coffee spills. Beer cans. Beer bottles. Beer spills. Wine glasses. Wine bottles. Wine spills. Water bottles. Water glasses. Water spills. Seriously it's my goddamn house, but I don't want to clean it every time the folk rock band comes over to rehearse.

My major gripe right now is that I don't have a space to crank up and crank off. I haven't turned my amps up super loud since the last album I recorded. I h8 my lyph

I never left more than a beater cab at the spaces I used and split with people, and even then I'd usually short out the inputs when I left, I was pro at it by the time I stopped going and we found a better option for loud practices at 3 am. Anything more was just asking for trouble, or stuff to come up missing, etc.
And that was long before the bay and CL even existed. These days, no way would I leave gear. Loadin/out time is better than just watching it all vanish, and I couldn't have imagined splitting a space with more than a couple people.

Yeah, like sharing a practice space, it's not really by choice.

I Rent the Space = i make the rules. Since that no Problems.
But fuck, i'm in practice Rooms since 24 (twentyfour) years. There happened so much shit and so much money that no One had got wasted - it makes me sick thinking about it.

i've only shared a spot once and it wasn't horrible but made me realize i don't want to do that shit.
i have loads of gear so the PA was mine, i was fine with using it and the worst was the other band left mics out. not a big deal. but i had a computer set up there for recording and about the time they started asking me to hook it up a certain way when i was done so they could use it was when i started talking to my drummer about our own spot. that, then getting a drinks list request for the fridge i bought and stocked a few times.... nothing heinous, but rude.
i'm a prissy little grrL.

This just fucking blew my mind
How much were they paying for the space to receive a fucking Cadillac service like a drink list?
