Wondering if anyone heard the latest Animal Collective?

I like them, but I don't find them to be consistently good enough for me to really get into them. Brothersport is definitely one of my favourite songs ever, I prefer that to all of Merriweather. :idk:

i saw them in tokyo last march and they pretty much played nothing but strawberry jam the night i saw them. i was pretty dissapointed by the show, and that seemed to be the consensus. i like merriweather better than jam for sure. i think they were at their best durring the songs where the one guy was playing drums instead of with electronics (peacebone being the only song anyone at the show seemed to get into). i dunno. pretty influential band in delay pedal as an instrument culture. kinda cool. over all, i spent most of their set waiting for them to become more expressive and tribal, with the shouting and the monkey sounds but it never really came.

they were also on tour with one of the worst openers i've ever seen, kria brekken (spell :idk: ) 45 minutes of sort of meek wailing, changing instrument every other song. really trying too hard to be artsy. oh well.

i guess i'm mostly bummed i didn't get to see POLYSICS when i went there because the tickets sold out to quick. :mope: :emo:
i had the chance to see the locust but the tickets were a little expensive and i'm not a huge fan.

Yeah I love. Feels is the best, but I do like the new album. It kinda irks me that the press consensus is it's their best when it comes no where near Feels, in my opinion. It is more accessible, I'll give you that, but whoever equates that to better is out of their mind. I like the wild tribal innocence of feels--and somewhat of Jam. New one is definitely more refined.
