Lets discuss the Ring Stinger

So yesterday my Stanimal-built Ring Stinger arrived and this is the coolest pedal I've played in some time
It's not only the best ring mod I've played (I'd take it over the Randy's Revenge) but it also makes an for an awesome, disgusting sound fuzz. Got this dope fizzy octave fuzz tone combining it with the PS6 that is now my ideal black metal tone. I've really just been twisting knobs and fucking around. Still need to experiment with an expression pedal but so far I'm floored by all the shit this thing can do. For a couple weeks I was missing the Mini Ark I had and though the two are way different circuits, the Ring Stinger makes me no longer miss it, especially combining it with a PS6.
Anyone else here have a Ring Stinger? Stan said he might be making another and I urge you all to hop the fuck on that if he puts up another for sale!
I'll update this thread with pics and maybe some demos (probably will just be me fucking around on guitar and with some noisemakers) this weekend.

Congrats! I've had a lovetone ring stinger for years and its been an integral part of my setups. That or my moogerfooger are my favorite ring mods they both sound so good and are so versatile. Looking forward to some clips!

Almost finished my stinger board. Thought I had most of the parts but missing some Zener diodes. Excited but scared of possible debugging.

I had a Lovetone Ring Stinger. I loved it, but was only able to use it once on a recording.... It's so extreme! I sold it.
Got an EH Frequency Analyser which I use all the time.
Also use a Dan Armstrong Green Ringer which gets used alot.
Sorry

What Zeners? I don't recall ever using them...

D19, the BZX79C15
The other part I was missing was the MOSFET.
Oh, shit. Just looked at the build doc. Version 1.3. I guess these parts were added as polarity protection. I wish I would have read that before ordering from mouser today. I guess I need to figure out how to omit the addition as I don't need it....

The 1.3 update followed my clone build. The following issues are addressed;
- Use of 4PDT switch for bypass, to kill octave/LFO noise bleed into the audio in bypass mode
- Use of VTL5C3 Vactrol, and trimmer
- LFO LED indicator staying on when switched off at top of cycle (revised wiring scheme)
- Optional RATE LED for the LFO
- Optional daughterboard layout for diode array IC use
Check my Youtube channel (mrdigi2t), I have a couple of vids of my 1.2 version clone. Most of the 1.3 updates were applied shortly thereafter. I highly recommend the 4PDT switch, Vactrol/trimmer, revised wiring, and LFO rate indicator. Any of these mods are easily incorporated into existing builds, and really help with the units performance.
