Maybe record that or tab it out in GP for the right instrument, and then use one of those apps that tells you what song it is?

that was nice, but not even close to being it, but i doubt thats why you posted it.
wagner was one of the first composers i thought of, when i was trying to hunt this down.
i recorded it on my cellphone. it will be a lot easier to recognize if you can actually hear it, instead of seeing notes on a message board
im a big believer in music memory, when i come up with something that sounds even a tiny bit like something else, i might not know what exactly, but i know it's like *something*
and usually i figure it out fast
not this time

Are the A Bb C Db and Eb all in the same octave?
I just threw that sequence into guitar pro and it isn't ringing any bells.

Yeah it is... the F is the highest note in the melody. it goes F then down to A, then back up to F. all the notes are inbetween the F and the lower A.
i was hearing it (remembering it?) in my head as like cellos or violas or both... eighth notes, probably somewhere around 120 bpm
thanks for giving it a try tho. im stumped.

Isn't there a song recognition app like Shazam that you can hum into?
