'67 ampeg reverberocket
it's in great shape well serviced
no bypass switch
now ive had amps that pick up radio when in bypass mode, once u kick them on and turn them up the radio goes away...
nah, this amp broadcasts 103.3 fm at any master volume
i can run totally clean and it does it...hell i dont even have to plug in, i can just flip the amp on and hear the station

I get some chinese station through both my amps, only when my compressor was on. It's gone away since I bought a Pedal Power II but my rehearsal room must have the shittiest grounding in the known universe.
I live in CANADA

I used to get Spanish radio when I lived in Niagara Falls. I also used to get AM radio on my headphones if they weren't plugged into my PC all the way.
Now I get FM radio stations through my Wah.
Nothing makes sense in the world anymore.

i noticed it at first when i moved in, but iw as using a non-grounded outlet and a cheap power strip.
i moved recording to the living room where there are the only grounded outlets are located (house date to the 1920s)
well the noise did not diminish...obviously haha

Is it possible for tubes to pick that up if they were going out? My intuition says they could, but I'm often full of shit.

Ah, yes, I've seen this happen many times...
The cause of this is your taste in music, sadly.
You see, amps vary in their preferences in music just as much as you or I.
It's trying to tell you what kind of music to play.
It's sad, but usually the amps that voice their concern like shit radio rock.
They won't be swayed, either.
I'm sorry, buddy.
You're going to have to put her down.

This implies that at one time things did make sense in the world.

Yeah, it might be. I just noticed this - which seems REALLY weird...
the radio stays the same volume. i have nothing plugged into the amp.
volume on 0 i can hear the radio as soon as the tubes warm up.
i can turn the volume all the way up or down and the radio does not get louder or quieter

Not to mention - i get a better sound if i plug my guitar right into my preamp and run it into Amplitube or Guitar Rig or some shit.
I'm still messing with mic placements, got a couple sm57s that im moving around, and maybe my speaker sucks dick, (it's not supposed to) but i cant find a sweet spot with a bowl full of flour. everything sounds kind of dead

So see the top panel?

Get some aluminum foil and thread it between the pots.
See this:

I've known people who said this can help a little.

hey guys, check out this rough in-progress demo clip thing
it's about 20 seconds
<snip>
plz take a listen for the miking of the guitars
tell me if im going crazy whining about them sounding dead
youd probably understand better if i uploaded just one guitar track by itself
but as it is, it's just drums and a few guitar tracks, and a little bass that you can barely hear
guitar signal paths from the mic are 100% dry, shure sm57 a couple inches off the center cone at 30 degrees ish
