So i got my hands on a old Peavey Triflex 2x12 subwoofer for basically free(traded a fuzz worth less than 50 bucks for it and a peavey 4x12) and the speakers are shot.

Now here is the oddness......the speakers only really see 60hz to 250hz and the crossover sends the rest off. So its almost in guitar speaker land here isnt it? The cab isnt ported and its super tiny, 2.31cf to be exact.

So what speakers would you load into it for use in a massive wall of doom for downtuned guitars? Or do you have any recommendations of 12 inch subwoofers that work well in tiny cabs?

I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't have much experience with subwoofiness.

The cab was probably designed with specific speakers in mind though.

Yeah and Peavey doesn't make them anymore. It's a really off sub it's not really ported or anything
