I have an M-Audio Ex-P and I think its crapping out. Im planning on purchasing a new EXP but want some suggestion that arent the cheap moog or roland exps but that are also affordable. I've got a vp that Im happy with at the moment so it doesnt need that capability. Fire away!

I'd get a Dunlop Volume X if I were you, I have one and I like it, or you could get one of those Source Audio Dual Expression ones, I hear some good things about those.
I didn't like the Mission Engineering ones too much, they have a bit of a short throw and they're in this crybaby style enclosure which is a bit awkward for me.

Yes they do. It's the one on the right of this picture. You can sometimes score one used for about $50, but they seem to hold value as they are rock solid. The moog EP I have is super cheap and flimsy feeling compared.

This. Price is good too for a sturdy dual exp pedal. Further, one of the outs is adjustable so you can fine tune it it work with most any exp input.

i just picked up a Dunlop DVP3 (Volume X). works as an expression or volume pedal and has a tuner out.
aluminum chassis. no rubber bands. adjustable tension. smaller than an EB. best part for me is it has a noticeably longer throw than the wah-type enclosures used for the Mission and Source Audio expression pedals. nice long sweep. priced reasonably too

@tjlong: Well put, that's exactly what I meant to say about the Volume X.

i'd go with the volume-x too. i have one for volume purposes but i've thought about getting a second for exp use.

Had any problems with the band drive system on the Dunlop. I've heard of people snapping the band. It's similar to the Visual Sound pedals but I believe they use plastic bands. Thats my biggest turn off. I like the Source Audio pedals but Anyone used the Rocktron Hex?
