My desktop speakers have started making weird noises. They are like 10 years old. Anyone have any suggestions for PC speakers?

Those seems nice but a little pricey! I'm sure you get what you pay for though.

Yeah I used to have the surround sound version (4.1) which apparently is discontinued. It was sweet. I lost that in a fire. That sucked.

what're the ones that're dying on you? mine probably will after saying this but i've had an altec lansing speaker/subwoofer rig since 98 that's still blasting clearly for me.

I'd like to spend around $100!
I actually have altec lansing too! Sub with 2 speakers. they sound pretty good. I think i've had these for around that long.

I would look closer at these, but it'd be a nice deal:

I would also check out the Maudio Speakers in this price range.

Yeah I'm definitely looking at cheaper studio monitors too, my mam has these M audio's

They sound pretty decent, but I think I'd be happier with a sub in the mix somewhere.
I've heard theses Swan M10s are nice

Actually now that I think about it, monitors would be nice because they would probably sound decent running vocals and keyboards through them

if you are actually going to mix on them I would recommend against a sub. Unless it is incredibly calibrated to the space, it's most likely going to create a false mix that won't sound good in most places besides your computer set up. If it's for media consumption, totally understandable.

I haven't looked for monitors in a while…there are just some decent speakers out there in this sub $100 space. I think for the price, both of the options you listed look great.
IF you don't mind spending more, I'd say check out some Tannoy's. KRK's and even some of the Mackie stuff.

I will be doing all mixing on headphones, as I believe it is the best way to listen to music anyway.
I'm actually pretty curious in the ones you linked now too because they are a good price

yeah, that seems like a "what's wrong with this" kind of price…I think of them as being a solid $200-$250 per pair kind of speakers.
I'm trying to figure out if that is just a raging deal or if something fishy is going on. It's prime, and it's amazon, so you are pretty protected.

I agree, I'm leaning towards them right now. I mean they'll sound better than anything I own right now haha.
I don't need super good sound anyway, just good enough.

unless these arrive broken, I am pretty sure they'll be more than good enough. :)
