How do you chorus??

I used to own a Boss Chorus Ensamble that was just too damn much. Turn it on, and the whole rig sounds different, BLECH!
Anybody using a chorus pedal they're in LOVE with? I really like the sound of the Redwitch Empress but it's 300 freaking dollars, and I'm not into that. I also dig the EHX Small Clone, but that one gets really bashed for it's shoddy reliability. There's a brand new one at a local store here that's already showing signs of wear. Plus, it's not stereo.
What are you using for your swirly, watery sounds? IGOTTAKNOW!!

This one's WAAAAAAY outta my range.

I'm using an old DOD FX65

I use chorus in a sublte way, mind you. I've got it modded up for togglable vibrato too. Mostly I just uses it to widen the sound in stereo-out, since I'm usually straight to PA! for this it works awesomly!

Hmmmmm, interesting. I'm not looking for anything too over the top. That's what the fuzzes are for. I wonder how the Digitech (speaking of DOD) Hardwire chorus is in real life. I've watched the PGS demo a bunch, but I don't feel all that attracted to it. Maybe I'm more into the analogue ones?

I use an EHX Stereo Electric Mistress for both Chorus and Flanger duty. I love both sides of it, and they sound even better blended together. Plus, its stereo. I think it sounds pretty close to the Small Clone (which I used to have)

The only chorus I've had that I enjoyed was the small clone....and I traded that for a devi pedal. I did have a chorus preset loaded in my hazarai memory man....
I really want a polychorus or cosmichorus though.

I really like the sound of my small clone but when i want a deeper chorus or something more extreme, i use the polychorus (which is stereo now by the way...) and it let's you create some feedback effects flooding your sound in a weird chorus dimension.

Small Clone for me. I don't use it too much. I'm more a a phaser kind of guy for my standard modulation.

Thanks for the great info, guys. I like the idea of the electric mistress and it seems to sound pretty good from what I can tell from my 1" computer speakers.
theinteriorleag, if you run into a Redwitch Empresses for that price PLEASE let me know!!! That would be perfect. It's a little more than I want to spend but I could the same about a lot of things I own and really enjoy.
Aen, have you tried tuning a guitar to Drone D? Tune all six strings down to D except the B which has to come up a minor third. You get three octave sets of drones. It's a little unsettling at first, but the restrictions it imparts can be quite liberating.
Cheers everybody!

Strabgely enough I use it about half the time for dronez, and about half the time I solo on that pair of strings. Its great when you bend notes, because then they start to fight inside the fuzz pedal and tremulate.

i built a clone of the Boss CE2 using true bypass, all metal film resistors, and audiophile caps. it's my go-to. i also have a guyatone micro chorus that i like for really fast, wobbly sounds, and the visual sound chorus in the H20 for an alternate sound to the CE2 clone.
i also have a boss digital dimension that stays on all the time.
(i'm a chorus freak)

Rockin a cosmichorus myself, the fromel seraph/lush is top notch as well. Been chatting back and forth with John Fromel about his lineup (went with the comp and eq), really nice guy and he knows his stuff. Not quite ready to take the plunge for a $300 chorus though.

I used a poly chorus for a few years, then was able to try out a fulltone choralflange and redwitch empress at the same time and chose the fulltone chorlflange. I used my choral flange for about a year, then I got Diamond's Halo Chorus and have been loving that over my fulltone. The halo has a much richer chorus tone that really loves low end.
