Well, you could certainly get that with an A/DA, but you can get that with a lot of flangers.
I'm not sure which flanger Ash used in Tones on Tail. He's used a few over the years.

Yeah the AD/A sound great from some demo on YT.
But the pedal is so big.

I kinda like those big enclosures.
If you get an A/DA, it's very versatile. Can handle just about any and all of your flanging needs. Unless you're picky about flangers (like you and I).

I know I've recommended it before, but seriously check out the GNI phaser/flanger.
The flanger section has a few unique controls and combined with the phaser is doubly awesome. It will get you that tone and a slew of others.

Funny you should mention it, cause I just recently watched a demo for this one. Sounds good. Filtery awesomeness.
