So the blank aluminium pedal is not new, it's been just repaired and upgraded by Scruffie... It's a chinese DM-2 clone, made better by some new caps and certain better parts... able of pretty much 550ms of quite dark, murky, washy and haunting delay. Awesome shit

The EQD Ghost Echo I got in a trade for the custom Reverb i had before. Much smaller and even with about a half of controls very cool sounding. Natural, inspiring and just straight up sweet. Haven'T tried one before - now i get why people love it so much :) However, it surprised me how much it actually oscillates, can't go over 3 o'clock on the dwell... what an amazing pedal.

now the main piece, a vintage 1970's Deluxe Memory Man, which comes with a story... hidden for lenghtitude

One day I was browsing our local mutation of craigslist and i saw this bugger for a ridiculously low price... sold as is... fair enough, asked some people if they can repair it for me, one of which was our very own Scruffie. He told me to send it to him if it's too bad.

I got it, opened it and is was TOO bad

Seriously... at first glance it looked like a gonner. Drilled enclosure. missing knob. Scratched board (INTENTIONALLY SCRATCHED DOWN THE FUCKING DRAIN), missing components. complete power section missing, all cables missing... So i sent it to Scruffie.

That was actually almost three months ago... what took so long? It was a fucking paperweight, the fact that the chips were there is just sheer luck... however one of them was busted. Basically the whole delay got rebuilt again pretty much... on the original board, but still...
Might be surprising, but i've never played a Memory Man before... not a proper one anyway. Played the Toy, had the SMMH, but not the REAL deal... and this shit can't get any more real. It's crazy good, inspiring as hell and it's just one of those pedals, you know? THOSE pedals... I know there's almost nothing original about it anymore, but fuck it's good

HUGE SHOUTOUT to Scruffie. Dude did an insane job, was great to communicate with, did a great job explaining everything, talking shit and stuff like that... A true ILFer. Also neatly packed it :hug:

Wow, very very cool, congrats!
The DMM is definitely my favourite delay ever, it's not even a delay like any others, it's an inspiration machine!

Sweet stuff! I recently sold my DMM, I never clicked with it the way other people did, but I bought mine for cheap bc the switches were all broken.... but that was a cheap fix. I had it for 5 years, sold it for what I paid for it + repairs + like $40 and now some other dude is very happy w/ it....

Obviously i'm in the honeymoon phase, but I hope it's not going to drastically change in the future, this seems to be one of the better if not best delays i've ever played

tomorrow, i have to play around with which delay comes first in the chain, it's going to be a tough one
