So I finally got my OCD in the mail and now I'm wondering about stacking it with an actual fuzz.

I've kind of narrowed it down to getting a cheap D*A*M Meathead Deluxe clone or a Fuzzhugger AB-Synth and I'm just curious if anyone's had experience stacking either of these with the OCD?

If you have any better pedal suggestions for stacking with the OCD I'm cool with it. I know the last thread I opened i was asking about shrill and crazy fuzzes and got introduced to the AB-Synth, but I feel like the Meathead might be better for doomy dark shoegaze sorta stuff.

From my experience, the OCD stacks really well with everything I've heard paired with it, so don't let that be a deciding factor on what kind of fuzz you're looking for.

Meathead can definitely do what some people might call "doomy and dark," but if you have any kind of sonic equivalents to the sound in your head that would really help.

Ab Synth has crazy amounts of gain. I think stacked it would pretty much sound square wave. Dunno though. I reckon an algal bloom would stack better. OCD is a great pedal.

I have Skips old custom one off Burial Chamber pedal which is an LSTR>OCD. It's pretty rad. Sounds great and although it would be cool to reverse the order of the pedals on demand it's a great combo.

In terms of sound I'm probably most going towards like Boris' sound off of Pink. Mostly like the tracks Farewell and Just Abandoned Myself. I also take inspiration from Loma Prieta, but I know most of their sound is from the OCD and multiple cranked V-4's.

The guys in Loma both play v4s with OCDs. That's it and that's all. Sometimes they use a Science Amplification amp. But usually just the v4s.

If you want heavies and oscillations, have someone make you an aenima with the chaos toggle on a footswitch. I think pp has a demo with an oscillating one...

I don't have an amp that really distorts well like a V-4. I'm using a Marshall MOSFET Lead 100 right now and while the distortion is pretty good for a ss amp, it's not amazing. I'm just kinda looking for some extra dirt I can throw on. Mostly trying to find my own sound I can get into.

Once upon a time, I had a v4 OCD > W&C TFR.

Oh that sounded good. I think it would do doomy and dark just fine.

It's been ages since I played a MOSFET 100 but I remember liking it. Can you set it to a light OD? That would likely sound great. But OCD into clean amp is also nice.

This. I used to use my Algal Bloom in a fuzzy overdrive mode into a slightly dirty OCD. Sounded awesome.

I could, but then I wouldn't be able to do clean parts for my band's songs. At least until I find a cheap footswitch that works with this thing.

Definitely looking more into the Algal Bloom now. I know my other other option would be to grab a Vick Audio Ram's Head clone and use that. I know OCD + Muff will sound nice. I'm sure plenty of people do that kinda thing.

I used to run my Big Muff into it also. Sounds nice.

I run my Demon King into my BAT Pharaoh.
Sounds good to me.
