Nice bass tones for sure.... but overall a little too "jokey" for my tastes....

Tasty bass.
I know you are not their biographer, but what is the "joke" these guys are going after with all the spoof song titles? I wonder if those titles actually turn people off -- make them take the band less seriously which is a shame because the music is great. Then again, I always laugh at bands who take themselves too seriously with all their tough sounding song titles and lyrics. So in conclusion, I am talking out my ass here.

haha... they just slowly evolved into what they are now and decided to use jokes for song titles. i don't know the story behind it (yet, i just got their album at saturday's show) but will definitely bug cory (drummer who i'm friends w/) about it. personally i think they are hilariously amusing!

I love it. Self-serious bands that aren't Tombs can go get fucked.
Tombs is scary. I won't tell them to do anything.

they became this way over time too. i think they've had the band for like 3 years now, but it's changed a bunch. there were vocals once upon a time, & they were a lot gloomier. i think they might've had a guitarist at the beginning too, not sure about that though...
they've also done a pretty impressive (IMO) tour for a small time band.

I guess they're a lot 'funnier' than those Mogwai song titles, that's for darn sure. I really dig the music, and I am not preaching at them to 'change' anything (I mean obviously right bc it's not my band why would they what anyone says) so more power to them for veering left of centre and doing what they want....

they're selling their 12"s for just 10 bucks too, though i think they're out of the pink (TWSS), i'll have to check though because if i'd known they had 'em in pink i'd totally have gotten that instead of black...
