Back when I was in college, when I lived with three dudes, and played out regularly, I went through an old Peavey 1820, a Peavey Rockmaster, and an Acoustic B200h:

Do you play bass or a treble stick? What sorts of music do you play? How loud do you need to be? Where do you live?

The wood paneling really adds to the Peavey vibe.
I really like this amp, even though the distortion channel alone is pretty bleh. When blended, though, you get the lows plus the dirt and somehow it sounds just right. I'd like to try one of the heads that has fuzz or the ones with like 6 effects.

Im wondering if it would be possible to just toss the stock fuzz and put in a fuzz PCB of my choice

Usually everything's on one pcb so you're going to have bypass that section and find somewhere to put a new pcb. But it would definitely be better than the built in distortion on most ss peaveys.
