Real demo of the mastotron has finally hit...and yes its by pgs

Claims to have massive low end for you bassists...thoughts? $149 is pretty reasonable for a vex pedal.

Idk, he didn't demonstrate the tone knob at all.....which makes me suspicious. :erm:

Its nice, but a little to "tight" for me.

Pulse width control seems interesting and $150 isn't bad if those options turn out to be useful.

maybe it was the gear/demo or my crappy laptop speakers...but it didn't seem that massive/heavy low end sounding.

I think the impedance control should make it ideal for synths, and keys.

I'm glad to see Z Vex finally giving a pedal a reasonable price. I'd say it looks worth it.

my guitar player had one and returned it. I didn't get a chance to hear it. I think he said it was too bassy, but I wasn't too interested, I was just asking why he would even bother buying it, given that I rag him for owning a fuzz factory.

Well did your guitar player realize that the bassy-ness is the whole point of this pedal?

He is a mess. Bassy to him though, isn't much. we yell at him incessantly to turn off his whammy, since he leaves it on octave up all the time.

i mailed Zachary Vex regarding the issue that the wooly mammot doesnt work well with the impedance of the active basses...

I also make a new pedal called the Mastotron that has a source impedance control, and it may be just what you need. It has just begun shipping today.
Zachary

so its maybe a good aproach to the bassiness of the WM without the price tag, some say that its overpriced, maybe isn't cheap but its worth every penny if thats the frequencies you go for, besides you can always trade it or get it used.

if i hadn't gone for the mammoth i would have gotten the mastotron.
