Or perhaps one where everyone posts their current pedal chain, and we all post stuff that best substitutes as far as sound/cost/obtain-ability go

I'll go first, because mine's an easy one:

Mellowtone Singing Tree
Earthbound Audio Supercollider
Montreal Assembly GB24 (as of Saturday :yay: ).

Pictures encouraged, I just have no camera on hand. Build me a pedalboard that will make these sounds for under $250. Then post your own, and the rest of us will do the same.

Right now I'm just running Tone Machine -> Pharaoh -> Tuner, which is totally feesable on this budget.

My bass board is Big Spider -> Hawk Mini -> 6 Band EQ which would probably make the cut.
Before I got this El Cap my guitar board was Tuner -> Holy Grail -> Harmonic Perc Clone -> Fat Sandwich which also probably fits as well!

If I take the wah off my board I'm at about 250$

cheapo loop pedal (20$) > meathead deluxe clone (40$) > rat2 (80$) > dirge delay (120$)

so its 260 but ehhh :idk:

Id prolly go MXR M117 $100 > MXR 250 $50 > Boss PS something $50 > Boss DD something $50.

Thats hoping I could get those Boss at 50 bucks. Something I've realized that at the least I like a delay, a modulation (love that flanger), something with octaves, and something with gain.

ignoring looping, and going with used prices i think i could maaaaybe do a DD-6/7> BD-2 > RV-3/5 > EHX Freeze for under $250. i might have to go with a DS-1 to have enough for the Freeze.

i think my goal this year is to build a cheaper version of my current board.

I play mostly doom metal. If I want to go completely bare bones:

DigiTech Bad Monkey -> Orange Micro Terror. It actually sounds pretty awesome.

If I want heavier fuzz I could go:

Bad Monkey -> Way Huge Swollen Pickle ($150 new, under $80 used these days) -> Micro Terror
or
Black Arts Revelation ($150 new) -> Micro Terror

If I want some reverb, I could throw in my Biyang Tri-Reverb ($54 new). Also a pretty good pedal.

I'm using a delay now but those are usually more expensive. I got a TC Throwback for $100 used.

Mine isn't even feasible with the cheapest of cheapies for that.

Fuzzhugger Phantom Ring > Fuzzhugger Velcroar > Devi Don't Fear the Noise > Godbox Burning Bush > Devi Disaster Fuzz > Devi Test Pattern > Basic Audio Lucky Number > Boss FRV-1 faux verb tank > MXR Blue Box > Idiotbox Mad Doctor > Ampeg Scrambler clone > Fender Blender > Joyo Ultimate Octave (now Voodoo Octave on current models) > Noisekick FX Guano Loco (analog delay with warp switch, very mean octave fuzz, and stutter trem) into a RE-150 Space Echo (actual tape), Digitech Time Bender, Boss GL-100, a pair of Digitech RDS series LFO delays (delay time doesn't matter, any of them work for what I abuse them for) split into a Fender Mustang V and Jazz Chorus, and a Alesis Midiverb 2 and Alesis Quadraverb running into a Hot Rod Deluxe.

Let's see...that works out to 21 individual effects for 250. Not going to fly.

Approximate market replacement with the cheapest known options (including clones) will net almost three grand.

We won't even talk about the insanity of finding a working guitar synth to run into it (since that's another $550-600 effect right there!).
