Since I couldn't stand their last album, this might be worth checking out this time around.

There were some pretty off-putting tracks. I'm clicking back through it in my library again, and I gotta say, 8/16 is definitely the worst track on the album. Honestly, they felt like Kylesa-lite, in my opinion. It sounds like some of the stuff later in the album that I didn't make it to, like Revel is actually pretty good. I might have to revisit Weatherhead.

Yeah, couldn't listen to the last album either but that first track they posted REALLY got me interested again. This one isn't half bad either!

I understand being put off by weatherhead because I was too at first. I grew to love it, though. It will never compare to Night Terror. Either way, I am beyond stoked for this new record. Sounds like they are gonna bring teh heavies.

Speaking of the new album, it's streaming in full on Pitchfork now:
Just got my vinyl and T-shirt preorder. Awesome so far. Love this band.

I didn't want to comment until I listened through a couple 5 times. Holy shit. Better than the first two. God damn.

They're really wonderful. If you're looking for more, Ben Verellen's old band, Harkonen has some stuff that sounds similar to Helms Alee at their more angular, aggressive moments:
