At the behest of the towering Slipknot/Stone Sour guitarist, gone are the dual tone circuits and barrage of controls. Gone are the fret position markers and enormous chrome bridge. Gone, in fact, is pretty much everything typical of a Jazzmaster guitar
AND YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA?

Yeah so I looked at the picture and thought, "That's not so bad, not for me but not terrible" then I clicked on the link, saw the price, saw what they did, So it's a Nu metal guitar for hipsters? :barf:

i like that fender are providing options, like hardtails (which i prefer). i don't care for this particular combination of features, but i likely will get an american special jazzmaster. i think this jim root model would be pretty cool as a baritone.

Get rid of the EMGs and add a control plate/pickguard and you could make a Cabronita style JM out of it.

I would never buy one but it ain't the worse Fender I've seen :]

Im pretty sure that JM is based of Jim Roots Blacktop JM that he stuck EMGs in... so... uh... That strikes me as all kinds of dumb

It looks like it's just his signature Squier tele, just in a JM body.

I think I'm missing something. I get that Jim Root's a go-to guy or whatever, but why has he been the Fender poster boy for the last 5 years?
