Anyone tried or own of these guys? I've always wanted to try one. Does anyone own a GFS guitar in general?

Are they still in production? I didn't see them on the GFS website anywhere.

POST PICS IF YOU GOTTEM'

I don't think they've made them for a while now.
From what I've read, the quality reflected the price... which was good enough for me to want one. I like cheap guitars.
I'd probably pick one up if I came across one or if they started making them again.
Always kinda hoped that Squier would sneak a telemaster into their lineup.

Other than the Mean90 pickup - which I love - all of the GFS stuff I've played has been worthless. Dead, lifeless, not at all inspiring, not worth the time effort or cash. ymmv.

aw lame. Hopefully squier will step up and do something. I love my Squier jazzy.

How much would it cost to convert a jaguar into a telemaster? Would that be possible?

I don't see how it would be possible, without filling in a ton of routes. However, Warmoth sells a "Jazzcaster" body which I highly recommend.

There's also a dude on ebay that sells Telemaster bodies for really reasonable prices. I would check there too!

Yeah, understandable. Still, $150 plus the $140 I paid for my baritone neck = a budget, and fucking awesome guitar that very likely beats the hell out of a GFS.

Alpine_Oregon on ebay body, Warmoth neck, Gotoh tuners, Glendale bridge, GFS Vintage Split humbucker (volume splits the humbucker with push pull), Ernie Ball Baritone strings.

Body: $90ish? (unfinished)
Neck: $220 with tuners, unfinished (also had to drill tuner mounting holes)
Pickguard: $25
Pickup: Got it in a trade, but like $30 on GFS?
Strings: $8 I think?
Bridge: I can't remember for sure, but it was like $60-70 because of the no cut out.

But honestly if you went with any body that the alpine_oregon dude does you can just throw some spray paint on it and call it a day. I sanded mine for a few hours before I stained it, but in all it's still cheaper than any other baritone you can really find, let alone a Telemaster

Thanks man. I would definitely scope either him or Warmoth out though. There are other dudes selling Telemaster bodies for WAY too much on ebay, that just aren't worth it. Like $300 something for an unfinished body? Please.

ALSO, Rondo has been doing some offset style guitars (not specifically Telemaster, but some can get close) for really decent prices as well

I've been mulling on a Warmoth Jazzcaster build too…been doing various mockups. I think at the moment I am leaning towards the one on the left here based on one of the ready to go bodies they have in stock. 3 low output pickups and a Strat wiring diagram feels like the easiest plan of attack. Probably not going to match or reverse the headstock. Skullservant's baritone neck seems like a really nice idea and justification for this build, too. The pick guards are just using what's available on Warmoth's site…I will probably need to get something custom cut, if I get around to making option 2 or 3.

Has anyone put a genuine fender Neck on a Warmoth body? Those american made necks that Fender is selling directly are spendy, but kind of feel like an interesting way to get a bit more value out of a parts-caster.

feel free to offer up your opinion on these as well...
