i just started giving these guys a shot. my odd immediate reaction is that it reminded me of the crow soundtrack. had to dig that up, turns out it reminded me of for love not lisa. weird.
probably from vocal similarity. just thought i'd share. any of you into torche? i haven't read about 'em yet. friend's suggestion.

this is my first runthrough, their harmonicraft album (which is a pretty cool title IMO). will report back after a few listens. it's at least tolerable to me.

In Return is my favorite record of theirs. Fun live band, too.
Check out Floor--they're kind of ground-zero for Torche. Heavier, shoutier, doomier.

Floor are/were so goddamn good. Torche kinda lost me a few records ago they're still rad, just have t put oit anything i e really wanted to listen to since meanderthal. I think it's the kind of thing that would be so much better live too.

Love torche, Love Floor, although I find a lot of Floors catalog to be kinda demo'ish recording wise. Still great. Torche is one of the few bands that can be blisteringly heavy and hellishly fun at the same time. Love them for that.

Great music, however I kind of hate how short the songs are, because there's so much great potential and riffs in them and they don't get enough space to bloom
Meanderthal and In Return are my shit

But i like it all... haven't listened for ages, thanks for reminding me!

They're great! Seen them 4 times, never dissapointed. In Return and Meanderthal are definitely their best, but the new stuff is good too even if it took me a while to warm up to it.

Everything everyone else said that was good about Torche....
But S/T....Fucking bomb/Z notes errywherres.
I love that record.
Floor also rule.
Torche is kinda Floor-lite, when you just wanna have fun and bear it up.
Edit: I just put that record on. I defy anyone to not like Charge of the Brown recluse.
Oh yeah, and Vampyro...and Fire.

As everyone else said, I love Torche in terms of their S/T and In Return, but after that they started to lose me a bit after they got more and more poppy. So I bought the Floor discography box set and listen to that when I want to get heavy again. Seen Torche a handfull of times and when they were playing their heavier stuff their shows were great. When I saw them more recently it wasn't AS exciting, but still good. I'm glad they still do In Return stuff as the encore.

I actually dug Harmonicraft a lot. It's such a catchy album.

harmonicraft & meanderthal (which actually WAS just a demo, wasn't it?) are the only two i've picked up so far. i'll have to try to find in return and some floor, have never heard that. least as far as i can remember...

No, they released a regular and a demo version of Meanderthal! So if you only have one you should look for the other!
