watched them demos, understand the function.

been thinking about building a little three or four pedal unit for my rhodes and was looking for fun spooky shit when i came across Mr. Black's Downward Spiral.
i know Wes Mantooth is thinking about letting his go now, wondered if the repeats just drift down or repeat any preleminary pitch shifting.

for example
iron ether polytope into downward spiral?

wtf happens?!?!?!?

This is unrelated, but there's a company in my hometown called "Downward Spiral Inspections". And that just sounds like a terribly foreboding name for an inspection company.

Wish I had still had my Polytope when I got the Spiral and I could have told you :(

Each time the delay repeats it seems to be shifted down the same amount. So if you have a low delay time, the downward shift will be quicker rather than a long delay time the shift will take longer, both seem to get to about the same pitch though.

Unless they inspect septic systems.

i think it's something Shepard tone related.

I wish that pedal had expression input for delay time. It's a prime candidate for getting 8 stepped.

Pitch transposition is in the feedback network only; thus the first repeat is not affected by the pitch shift. It is however, modulated and amplitude limited/compressed with filtering applied. It's a fairly complex process all said and done. Sounds rad as hell though.
And the amount of pitch shift depends on how high the regen control is set.

Jack, PLEASE make one with an expression jack. Holy shit that things fun when someone is turning the knobs for you. I'd love to be able to do that live without needing someone to turn shit.
