Even though they ae one of the more hated celestions, behind say the Rocket 50 and to some the v30, im really starting to like them. I have a Crate stereo chorus that has 2 in it and i always liked it but i kind of thought it was just a happy accident but i bought a cheap 70/80 from Avatar and after trying a few amps thru it.....im really starting to like them, they are actually a pretty meaty sounding speaker.

Anyone else like em?

the seventy80s are pretty much the most universal hate speakers...
but i actually dig them for clean tones ...i miss my laney VC30

Honestly i like them more for gain stuff than cleans.

i practiced through an ampeg combo that had one in it and i like it. lots of low end, but I'm into that. when i switched back to my own rig, i noticed the ampeg hadn't been cutting through the mix, as well, though. the bassist i was playing with at the time noticed he was able to turn his amp down a bit once i stopped using the ampeg because my guitar wasn't occupying as much of his frequency range. the ampeg could handle the lows from my HOG when i would use the filter at full resonance starting at the heel down position, and I've played through a few speakers that would sound like they were going blow if i had the resonance up more than half way. bottom line, i'm into a 70/80.
