EHX Holiest Grail vs TC Hall of Fame

Dudes, need advice
got my eyes on some new reverbs since im trying to get rid of the custom verb Schlatte built me. Essentially, I need halls, plates etc, longer and deeper verbs than it can get me
Thinking about either the Holiest Grail or the Hall of Fame... now im aware that they are extremely different, but I actually love both for their possibilities.
PROs for HoF:
Size (even though that should not be an issue for me now)
Power - 9VDC 100mA is nice (as compared to 9VDC 500mA for the EHX)
The editor - obviously a huge thing for me since i sometimes have a specific verb taste
good sounds right out of the box - love the Cathedral, LoFi and Modulated right out of the box
ease of use - obviously much more simple than EHX
Price - a huge difference because used HoF costs 90€as compared to like... 170 for the Holiest Grail
PROs for the Holiest Grail
SIze... i mean those big box EHXs
Presets - lots of sounds at hand, two easily footswicheable presets at any given time
Sounds - very broad sound possibilities, crazy sounds, delayverb, resonator i mean dayum gurl
Very oldschool controls that just warm up your feelings... Great, classic controls, love that shit
Also more ways to tailor your sound at any given moment
not concerned with how they sound in stereo since im running mono... not concerned with the MIDI or expression in on the EHX since i dont use them
TL;DR: Is the EHX, with its awesome looks and intuitive controls and crazy sounds, worth investing almost double as compared to the Hall of Fame, which is simpler but still packs lots of possibilities?

I would pick the Holiest Grail out of them.. Sound cooler.
Im not using my HOF anymore, boring and characterless i think. But then again I dont like most reverbs.

I've never had experience with the Holier Grail but I have with the HOF and it's what I keep going back to. With the editor you can make it really whatever you want

Like Skully I haven't played a Holiest Grail, but I do have a Holy Grail. It was a great reverb when I didn't have a reverb. Now that I have a Hall of Fame Mini it hasn't been on my board at all. Because it wasn't an always on reverb there was some noticeable volume drop that I wasn't agreeing with.

in my experience, the HOF has some cool modes, but doesn't touch the holiest grail in pure sonic capacity. something about that pedal that sounds fantastic. super deep verbs.

That makes total sense.
I feel, in some sense, that this is Apples and Oranges.
I think in it's 150$ price range (there's a Hall of Fame on Amazon being sold before 108$) the Hall of Fame is hard to beat for the features that are packed into it. Being able to switch reverbs plus the tone prints and tone print software it's chock full of stuff.
The Holiest Grail is definitely going to have several things that it does better but at a much larger price point.
Particularly on the used market I just wonder can you get something better than the Holiest Grail at the same price point?

"better" is subjective, but you can get a Space
this whole discussion is still theoretical, because until someone buys my verb in B/S/T i can only afford the HoF anyway

.

I used a Holier Grail for a while, and I wasn't really impressed with it. I traded a different reverb for it and was actually really happy when the guy called and wanted to trade back... it took up way too much space and I found the gate function kind of useless for my needs.....
I'm gonna throw out a Cathedral, bc I simply love mine so much. Used they're always about $120 'round these parts and mine has been an absolutely integral part of my setup since I bought it. I tried a HoF before I bought it and wasn't too impressed....

I tried a Cathedral and then HoF
Cathedral was really weird, full of quirks and hard to control... the sounds were really cool though
also - I'm not really sure why is the Holy Grail even in the Grail family because every other grail looks like a smoking pile of shit next to it

i have & am keeping both of those 'verbs, at least for now. cathedral was nice but i didn't hang onto that one.
honestly i'd probably say if i was just keeping one it'd be the holiest.
but unlike you i wish it wasn't so damn big...

I'm sure that if i bought it, I would consider it too big one day

but right now i have the right amount of space
However... I'm already contacting people about Halls of Fame... for purely financial reasons... I'm trying to be better with money, plus i'm saving up for vinyls

you can probably get one of those WAY cheaper.

Yeah - silly me - I thought "what the hell do I need a tap tempo on a reverb pedal for" and only when I started using it did I really click with it. It's definitely a pedal where you don't need to crank the knobs to get effective results out of it. Personally I love it, but I'm never totally ruling out a HoF or some other reverb that might knock me off my feet one day....

Holiest Grail all day. Blending two reverb sounds together is pretty dope, it also looks hella cool. Now that I have a Supernatural and a Digiverb, I should be on the hunt for a holiest grail too...
