Curious about this circuit family lately. Which of them have worked for you? Which haven't? How are you using them?

I've got a Ross and a Kowloon Walled Bunny.

I love 'em, but they don't seem to stack that well with fuzz. Because they have a pretty distinct tonal character, I find they stack better with more neutral sounding gain devices like overdrives and boosts. To me, it's a very straight ahead rock kinda sound. Kinda begs to be the dominant distortion tone provider in the chain.

I love the Ross a lot. It's very warm sounding and gets pretty saturated when the distortion is cranked. Not a whole lot of output though.

I also love the KWB. I still haven't messed with the diodes yet. It came with one LED and (I think) a germanium in it. It's definitely much louder than the Ross.

How're you hoping to use?

I'm a huge fan of the HAO Rust Booster, which is a dist+ without clipping diodes.

Dunno. I am just thinking about breadboarding and then doing a vero build since they are such simple circuits. I'm not huge on opamp&clipper circuits except for more rudimentary stuff (Rat > Tube Screamer) so I thought dead simple is worth exploring. Uses? I usually play solid state around the house so overdriving the amp isn't a huge priority. So just getting a cool tone or texture in the bag of tricks.

I've played the Ross through a SS amp. Sounds fine. Gets a nice distortion tone all on its own.

I think putting a wah or EQ before it brings out some great sounds too.

I know the EQD White Light is based on those pedals (but not the same), and I love the sound of that thing.

They are awesome for straight up rock tones. Burgs has a great demo of a dist +.

So fucking rad. the DOD250 is early OM in a box.

You've got a modded DOD 250 don't you? Whatever, someone does, and Skully did some awesome mods. So going to get around to that one day.

Dist+ is awesome. Dubkitty is the Guy ask! Bought one because of his posts about it.

Ghost dizzy into dist+ is one of my favorite sounds!

D+ is the Bob Mould sound. I have a Bent Soundlabs Industry Standard, which is a Distortion Plus with the distortion maxed, a volume knob, and a clipping switch. I love it.

Hmm, probably i should temp trade you my dizzy. No one in the US has one near you?
Or try a buzzaround. Almost The same - just a bit less ripping.

I don't have a buzzaround. I can probably find either one of those not too far away.

I should just save up my money and buy one. Or sell some pedals so I can afford to buy more pedals.

Anybody ever use one with a MicroKorg? I was gonna give my roommate one of these BYOC pedals once I built them, and wasn't sure whether to give him the 250+ or the Octavia.
