Hey, I wondering about those pedals that can control both volume and tone, like this Dearmond 610.

What other models can do this? I seem to remember seeing a big old school chunky chrome one a few years ago but I can't remember who made it. I'm looking to do some faux-lap steel shit until I can get a lap steel.

Fender made one in the 60s/70s and they even reissued it a couple of years ago.

I see them super cheap used.

Yep that's the one... Not too many that do Vol/Tone but that Fender Classic shouldn't be hard to find...

Oh yeah I think that's the first one I saw. Apparently Bigsby made one too.

I just was reading some stuff about the Fender. Apparently it cuts a lot of treble from your signal even at maximum tone. I wonder if there's a way to build a buffered one that wouldn't do such a thing.

That's an idea. It might be impossible--or at least very difficult--to pull off techniques like this, though. Controlling the sweep of the treble roll-off and volume simultaneously offers some pretty great expressive possibilities.

Its as easy technique to learn using volume pedal and the tone control on your guitar. It gets close, but won't get you used to using a pedal.

You can pickup a decent to great lap steel for less than that... The new Rondo's with the built-in stand/legs look great, and I got my Silvertone (with the original P13 :!!!: ) for $200...

True. I just got a Squier Cabronita though which has no tone knob which I think this kind of pedal could be useful for.

I feel the tone pedal can be great for playing with very responsive pedals like TGD (which gets crazy versatile and cool when you work the tone knob on your guitar) or octave fuzzes :)

I mean for actual fluid changes you can't get from a tone knob when you're playing

Try some different wahs with your new Cabronita... You can play sitting down and use wah and vol with both feet and pretend you have a real lap steel...
