Squarewave+ fuzz

Is it possible to get a more subtle sounding kind of fuzz with the basic audio squarewave+ ? From the demos it seem like turning down your guitar volume doesn't effect the fuzz in the same way as it would a fuzzface. Is the squarewave really only good for a more "in your face" type of fuzz or can it get more subtle also? Thanks for any info.

Yeah, I frequently play with the gain knob rolled all the way off. Doesn't get totally clean, but cleans up well. It's a pretty versatile pedal.

I love the Squarewave+ but mostly for the mean toanz it brings.
