The originals weren't particularly well-made guitars anyways, so they can't be any worse. That's not to say that I don't like them, I've actually always wanted to find a beat-up 1449 to fuck around with.

if the same outfit is putting these out that put out the danelectro reissues then its hard to say. i've got some vintage silvertones and bought a reissue danelectro cause it was only a couple hundred. it turned out to be a piece of crap, quality control was horrible, the metal bridge was bowed, the pots needed to be replaced, poor fret job. it didn't feel as solid as my original either, the neck profile was smaller. i returned it. but then again it was only $200.

but...i believe that originally the reissues were being made in korea and had a good reputation, then they moved production to china. That was the model I bought.

That silvertone looks pretty sweet. could probably find an original cheaper if you frequent vintage guitar shows.

Won't even have to hunt vintage shows for an original, they're still a staple of yard sales, thrift stores, and Craiglists.

Reissuing Silvertones is sort of like reissuing shit on a shingle.

guess you've never been to a vintage guitar show. no need to hunt, you'll be tripping over them.

I don't know how I feel about this.
I'm kind of like, yeah, awesome as shit.
But then again, I kinda think it's a bit silly.
I'm so conflicted.

$350 tops imo because you can find plenty of originals for less plus gold foils.
