Which fuzz on bass to avoid getting drowned in the mix

Hopefully there are a handful of bassists in here
I've been trying tons and tons of fuzz on bass, but I always end up getting drowned in the mix as soon as the bass is not by itself anymore. Went from Tonebender to Bass Big Muff to Swollen Pickle to Pickle Pie B... Currently the Pickle Pie B is on the board, soundwise it's awesome, but still the same disappearing in the mix problem, even with the blend. I am now going to try a baby thundaa, just ordered one!
I really like the muffish sound and would like to stay in that area. I also have an Xotic BB Preamp, coupled with an sfx micro boost which is my distortion of choice for a more RAT-like sound. But I'd like a muffish sound either separate or to add on top the other one. What do you people use to stay in the mix?

If You're looking for something smooth and round and woolly to keep out of the guitars way, don't ask me.
But I suggest Super fuzz. Or just about anything derived from that circuit. With a healthy amout of treble, enough oomph from amp, when You kick in the octave up fuzz ...BANG! If You can get that drowned it's probably because it's rocking so much harder than the geets it is making the guitarists nothing special and look bad, wimpy, and they can already see You stealing their babes. Take my word for it.

My guitarist doesn't even use distortion. He plays classical guitar. I'm actually drowned by the drums (yes he's loud, but I suppose drummers are the same everywhere
) I'll check out the super fuzz. Any pedal using that circuitry available in a relatively small enclosure? (PPB size?) That Katana looks awesome but unfortunately way too big!

There's a good many Shin Ei Super fuzz clones around in small enclosures. And just about anybody in the Shark Tank would surely build You one.
I use Ibanez Standard Fuzz myself, Verellen Big Spider is a cheaper but a good clone of that.
Haha, yeah, I know the drummers. First I got a 600watts amp. And now my drummer's got two guitar amps
for his noise gear and sample pads and stuff.

Try boosting the mids on your amp. While a scooped eq may sound cool on its own it will blow in a band context.

They are already a good bit boosted. I love all my sounds (clean, distorted, etc..). I just can't find a fuzz that stands out and breaks everything down when engaged. Instead it's more like a mute switch... The Xotic + boost combo already kills, but I really want a second more "furry and low-endish" sounding distortion

If you're looking for crazy cutting in a small size, try the Malekko Diabolik. It's a smaller, streamlined version of the B:assmaster (which I have), which cuts through any mix on bass like WHOA. Also, Muffs with mid controls are lovely - Musket, Supercollider, etc. Also, Rat variations - Fuzzrocious has a number of 'em that work well on bass.
But my go-to will always be B:assmaster.

I have a fuzzrocious rat tail
it's awesome. But I like the xotic + boost combo a tiny bit better due to the bass control, I get a very similar sound with a tabit more low end than the rat tail.
thanks for the malekko tip, I never tried those before.

Try stacking something middy with your fuzz. That usually mellows out the scoop.
Or any of us builders in the shark tank build a fuzz of some sort.

Wattson's got a superfuzz that's supposed to be the tits.
The Idiotbox Blasteroid is another "muff-like but not" option.

Agreed, the Diabolik just killed it on my first gig with it last weekend.
