I freaking love this pedal for everything.. clean boost, gritty clean, od, fuzz.. it's my golden "home" pedal that's always on. Been looking for a great companion for it, to cut through on the hard chorus & solo part so I can set the mini to edge of breakup theme.. what are the good options out there? I've tried few ts flavored ones cos I needed a bit of a honkyness, but it was too mushy & compressed.. looking for something more open sounding. Could be an od, distortion or a good pairing fuzz. Hit me with good suggestions and pre/post orders!



ps: how's the mid-ness of the tafm?

TAFM and Mini compliment each other very well, and stack well in either pre/post combo. It's nice and thick it's not always dark. Openness is very possible with the gain & fuzz controls backed off and the fuzz volume bumpin' (maybe even a little clean). Also has a mids toggle which is subtle but adds a little boost.

& if you set it with the fuzz backed off and kick the gate mod on, the fuzz control automatically maxes out so it's like two fuzzes in one

Been thinking on getting the TAFM for quite a while, thought they're all the same.. but I've read on one thread there are few versions of it http://ilovefuzz.com/viewtopic.php?f=178&t=33133 Only way is to ask Brian the best one for guitar I guess. But still open for other ideas.. so hit me more!

Out of all I have tried my favorite was Eau Clair Thunder into fuck. Brutal and cutting.

Sounds like you're setting and using your mini similar to the way I do...
I smack mine up with a Rangemaster. It adds a touch of volume (or not), grit and harmonics, and livelies things up.

Totally! If I'm not mistaken, I think there's a demo of the Fuck/Sparkle combo...
For that type of use, it seems you can't go wrong stacking a Treble Booster in to anything.

stacking the mini with EQD's talons was awesome as well as the TAFM.

I love my TAFM as a heavy dirt but low gain fuzz and the mini after it as a slight break up, with reverb before the TAFM but delay after it and before the mini. Into a loud clean amp.

also - had a great tone when I tried stacking the big Fuck OD with BAT Black Forest

I'm using a Walrus Audio Iron Horse after my Mini, and it sounds really swell. I bought a Fingerprint clone from a forumite here a few days ago that I can't wait to pair up with the Mini too.

Is it weird that when people discuss pedal pairings like this, I imagine it in a similar context to people discussing wine pairings?
