Best "Bang for your buck" guitar? (new or used)

Hey guys. I was just curious what some of you dudes who go through a lot of (or have a lot of) guitars consider to be some of the most "bang for your buck" guitars - new or used.

I ended up selling it to "trade up" to another Jazzmaster, but the Squier Mascis Jazzmaster (the JMJM) is a very, very nice guitar for the money. The three-way switches can be finicky and should probably be replaced, but otherwise the feel and finish are pretty remarkable. I never would have considered a Chinese-made guitar before the JMJM came along.

G&Ls definitely. Tribute or USA, used or new, they are fantastic guitars. A used tribute would probably be the best bank for your buck out of the bunch though.

The squier jazzmaster vm special plays and sounds great. The pickups are the same as the vintage modified but sparkle more. I imagine the lack of electronics might have something to do with that.

That's what I came in here to say too, used American G&Ls are tremendously good guitars for not a ton of money.

I've found several MIM and CII Fenders and Squiers that were way mo awesome then their price... Also I see G&L's in Austin quite a bit... If you want a huge slab of wood Peavey T-60's can't be beat, or use can use it to beat the naysayers...

I've got a the J Mascis Jazzmaster and a CV Tele and they made my CIJ Jaguar dissappear.

Yep, definitely the CV stuff! I kind of want to try the VMs. Is it near as good as the CVs?

Any mij Jackson. Just an amazingly well crafted guitar. Inside and out I was very impressed with what I got for my money.

Squier VM or CV, definitely. J Mascis Jazzmaster as well.
You can probably still find
these around for a good price too; mine was like $400 and it sounds and plays perfectly. Wilshires are good too.

I'm a bassist by trade, and only a guitarist in the shameless cavern of my own basement, but I'd say that so far VM squiers and an Epiphone Dot have been my best bang-for-the-buck guitar-wise. Also, agreed with the earlier statements that G&Ls are awesome value for the insanely good quality they give you.
