Guitars with just a neck pickup

What guitars have just a neck pickup (that aren't jazzboxes). I pretty much just use neck pickup on my two guitars and have been looking around on the interwebs for a couple months for this but haven't found many cool [to me] looking guitars that I loved.

You want something Fender-ish, right, proroby?

Yes.

Not much of a dano man; don't hate them, but don't love 'em.

I think you should go with a custom build.

Something like a TeleMaster with a Charlie Christian or something.

I am currently making a single (bridge position) socialite for one of our own here on ILF.
I have a model in the works (will be working on them over the winter) that will combine LOW cost (under $1k) with good looks. That could always be ordered with a single pickup.
Just thought I'd mention it!

But who could build such a thing...

This is closest I could make on offset dressing room and find. Take away trem tail piece and bridge, put tele bridge and tailpiece (they make tele tailpieces without hole for pickup?). No switching system (top or bottom).

I love the look of those Airlines, but could never see myself playing one. Didn't love the other two.

All you really would need is a new pick guard for that to be real :thumb:

Ideally you would want one made specifically for this right? A partscaster would have extra holes underneath the pick guard for switching systems and bridge pickup. What kinda/how big of a problem does this create?

:hello: I might be able to help you out! I've built / owned quite a few neck pickup only guitars and could probably help you pick out the parts and assemble it for you as well. The tele bridges you seek are built by glendale, and the most difficult part would be finding a pickguard if you want wanted to go with that style control plate as most telemaster's and respective pickguards that you can buy are setup for a tele control plate. But the guy who built the dirge telemaster body could probably route the body and maybe the pickguard for the kind of build your going for.

Here's a few of mine i've built or owned...

Most recent tele build (I completely assembled this one):

The MEC built telemaster I put a new bridge, control plate, and neck on while I had it:

The Dirge Telemaster that I put a new neck, pickup and added a two knob control plate on:

You can get jag/jazz bodies from allparts with no holes that's what I used for my Bass VI I'm building. Also Wartmoth would do any routing you want most likely.

Yeah, I was gonna say there are at least a few people on here who have mad assembly skills ...
