YES, it's a high impedance, super loud boost with mild compressor characteristics. Super duper loud.
But the honey pot's been sweetened! The Super Butthurt improves the 1-knob boost in two simple ways: 1) a Highs knob so you don't get an icepick in your ear & 2) a Master Volume so you can set the Boost where you want & also adjust on the fly, LIVE with no scratch.
Controls:
· Boost (scratches when turned)
