the fact that the headstock wings are never in view and truss rod cover says les paul custom is kinda throwin me off

I'd be a little skeptical too.
Try and get as much info from the seller as you can and if it's not real Gibson USA
as it states in the ad, you SHOULD be covered by eBay Buyer Protection.

Logo and tuners look legit, TRCs are switched so often I wouldn't even question that. If needed you can show this to the guys on the gibson forums, some of them live to spot fakes. They notice so many of the little things that counterfeiters still screw up.

it kinda looks like this, but this has no binding/block inlays?
and then there's this, the gibson LPB2 from the 90s
I still haven't found one with body binding though

i think the silverburst paul bass was a gibsson guitar of the month. one of the few basses that made it. i could be wrong, but i remember seeing pics of a similar axe circa 2008

The truss rod cover is upside down and the bridge is one commonly found on chinese import guitars and not one I've seen on american gibson basses (all though i haven't looked all too much).... Seems sketch bro.

It's a right handed truss rod cover on a left handed bass, when he's playing the words will be upside down.
