Shimmer pedals.....

Okay so upon the announcement of the BigSky I unloaded my Space so I could pre-order one when I get paid this weekend. But before I go dumping that much change on a pedal again I decided to look at how I really use verb, especially in the future project and band that the board is built for. I realized really the only thing I used the Space for frequently was for the blackhole verb and the shimmer verb. So do I really need to spend 480$ for shimmer and blackhole verb?!?!?! Well no and maybe yes at the same time, thats why I'm consulting you fine gentleman.

Here's what I'm looking for:
1) under 200$ if possible
2) ability to do -1oct shimmer
3) preferably tunable note shimmer (such as +/- 5th's, 4ths, etc...)
4) a usable mix control (one issue i had with the space)
5) presets if possible
6) stereo if possible

Now I've found a couple pedals that meet most of these goals.

A) MAK Space Reverb

b) Line6 M5

The problem with the MAK is it has only one setting and sounds pretty digital, but under a rack ton of gain that digitalness will help with clarity. Also it ships from the Ukraine, which while being my familys homeland, is a pretty far place to ship too for problems if any arise. The M5's octo and particle settings would be close enough to my space settings for me to be pleased and has presets, plus its stereo if I so desire, but their quality control and stability has proven to be anything but solid.

Any more suggestions that you guys might have, or thoughts on the two I have listed, are welcomed. But I have a feeling what I desire only rests in the space and the bigsky, and if I do preorder the bigsky I won't be sad, but if I don't.... I can use the funds for other toys! What say ye oh great and wise ILF?

Do you want your shimmer to be built into the verb? A good, deep reverb paired with the right octave up setting on a PS-3 can emulate that pretty well for a lot cheaper if you want to buy more toys.
Or get the BigSky and have a whole lot of toys in one!

If you're happy with how the M5 sounds I would say just go for that and upgrade the footswitches. That seems to be the only really common cause for problems, and if you get a used one any other issues probably would have popped up already anyway.

There are obviously other shimmer verbs but I can't think of any that meet all of your requirements.

Yeah I do, I was thinking of something like one of the PS series inside the fx loop trick of a stereo reverb but it seems like a hassle to setup and still leaves me buying 2 pedals and having no presets.

This is what I'm thinking, the other issue seems to be the screws that keep the rubber feet on. I've read how to fix the problem and its extremely easy I just want to make sure it will last. I think your idea of getting a used one that works is a good idea, if I can get it cheap enough I'll have funds left over to get the footswitches replaced.

I think in terms of tweakability the M5 would come in over the MAK. Plus stereo inputs/outputs if you want to use both your amps.
And I don't think M5's are that expensive. Like $120's maybe? Plus you can tweak more than one mode.
I will say that the PS2/PS3 might give you that shimmer stacked with reverb but I know it's a pain to click on two Boss pedals next to each other at once without some sort of bypass loop which is then ANOTHER pedal on your board

I was just looking into this myself. I haven't tried one yet, but what about the Hardwire Supernatural Ambient Verb?

I've got the supernatural but I leave it on the apron setting 90% of the time. The shimmer is slightly detuned which gives it a haunting sort of vibe
