This is one of those artists where I know I've heard a bunch of their tracks without realizing it. I need to dig into their catalog. Where should I start?

i thought his/their first album was alright but never really got into lcd beyond that. & i'm a bit of a house / various techno junkie. "never as tired as when i'm waking up" was pretty amazing though.

I'm still pissed off that Death From Above 1979 were threatened with legal action due to his Death From Above label. Death From Above is a well known saying referring to paratroopers bringing the pain but this jackoff thinks he owns all rights now? Lame.

Anyway, I saw LCD Soundsystem open for Arcade Fire at Red Rocks years ago. They were tolerable, shit was catchy as all get out.

i love DFA.
but i liked their remix album better than the originals...

DFA has prior use as a trade name. Death From Above 1979, while awesome, didnt do their homework and realize that DFA had registered the name. too bad so sad. plus those assknobs broke up after one album. what a fucking tease.

and Death From Above 1979 is way cooler sounding than just "Death From Above" anyway.

Also I'm pretty sure that DFA was alright with it, but DFA1979's label at the time (vice I think) was the one that pulled the plug.

I read some interview with Murphy ages ago where he said that he apparently approached Grainger to sort it out amicably and DFA1979 basically told him to go fuck himself. I love both bands but LCD definitely split up at the right time.

I've never really listened to LCD recreationally, but I will watch the shit out of Shut Up And Play The Hits.

Yeah, Sound of Silver and This is Happening are great. I don't really dig their first album very much.
