looking for some type of dirt to add to my kids synth board


right now I have a bent yamaha keyboard a sylophone and a montron delay running into a realistic (radioshack) mixer
I am adding an orange cycle and atari punk console

the output of the mixer runs into a modtone trem a DOD death metal and an RC2

the death metal isn't working in this context
I want to distort the signal but not sure what works well

Any recomendations
Should the effects be pre mixer?
I have a newer behringer mixer but this one is easier for the kids to use

Have a multi bus behringer but it is just too much for my 7 year old to figure out
the realistic is huge and strange

Also, several of the Devi Ever pedals are awesome with synth. I can directly attest to the awesomeness of the OK, Aenima and Never Drive when you run a synth signal through them.

I have a hyperion clone out being painted right now
Maybe I will go grab it and see what it does with the synth stuff

I make some that do well with synth. It's important to consider, though, that if a pedal doesn't like buffers beforehand it may not like a synth cause of the output impedance.

Consider the Wooly Mammoth (or a clone) if you're looking for muff tones.

Thirded. Clean blend is wonderfully helpful but the dirt itself is so full either way. Quite flexible, too.

Really enjoyed that video man; that was really good

WOLF COMPUTER! The weird decay on synths does all kinda of awesome things with the oscillations on the Wolfie.

I love the death metal on synth, especially basslines. Always use it in the mixer's effects loop though, never 100% wet.

Mastotron, Swollen Pickle and probably any bass fuzz will sound awesome.

Yes.

Also, the seppuku trash tone is really cool. Ive been meaning to do a demo but havent gotten around to it. The little red push button on it makes for awesome rythmic filtering and the blend between fuzz and sputtering octave down makes for interesting textures. Ive used a hyperion on my PSS and thought it made the tone too dark and took out the harmonics I like. Ive been running the ms2000 through my pedal board but I prefer it on its own. Theyamaha pss always gets run through peds.
