I found it initially disappointing, but its grown on me over the past few weeks. I'm a sucker for mediocre stoner rock however. I've actually been revisiting a lot of old shit I didn't listen to the first time around, Hermano, Roadsaw, Tummler...
The recording sounds kinda thin though, Bjork's solo stuff is usually a bit more lush. hmmm.

Wow, sounds like they even stole Josh's old Tubeworks for some of the parts--talk about going for the
exact same Kyuss guitar tone
And I dig some of Brant's solo stuff...Jalamanta especially has a fantastic vibe, but some of the rest are weak at best. Always happy to see him behind a kit though.

See, I really like all the Palm Desert stuff (Fatso Jetson, Yawning Man, Unida, Brant Bjork and his merry band of changing bandnames) as well as Kyuss, so I've really dug the album. I think the vocals are mixed a little high for my taste, though.

Agreed on the vocals...and I worship much of the Palm Desert output--Fatso Jetson is
ridiculously underrated, and I do really dig the Che, BB & The Bros/Operators, Unida, Slo Burn, etc., catalog. I've still only listened to the Vista Chino a few times, and there's some good riffs, but the songwriting and production just seem to fall a bit short...of my probably unrealistic expectations
