just came across these on eBay... i am extremely tempted to try for $45 + $14 shipping. yay? (and they have even cheaper ones in smaller sizes). although i can't help but fear that the case will be made out of paper..

I have a huge black one (TWSS) that I wouldn't say could handle heavy duty abuse but it can do medium duty abuse and last for awhile. If you rearrange your pedals a bunch the stuff that the velcro catches on will rip though.

Yea, I wouldn't expect heavy duty stuffs at that price, but it also has one other advantage: that color means that if you miss that walking off the stage, you're dead to the world.

Same reason I have a "revolt yellow" Mustang.

If that gets stolen, I only have myself to blame.

Agreed. I've had one of those Rondo aluminum flight cases for years, and it's been fine for in-town shows, but I personally wouldn't trust it for serious touring. I had to replace the bottom Velcro entirely after maybe five shows (it was pulling off the board), and the hinges are slowly falling apart. It was super-cheap, and lasted for what I needed, but I certainly wouldn't recommend that someone take it on the road unless they fully knew its limitations and felt they could handle it.

i have one and it works well,
again, probably not for heavy thrashing but, mine has been beaten up pretty good

Mine actually was underwater for a while
at that point the felt (feltlike substance) that held the pedals came off but I just replaced it with outdoor carpet
it is the one that looks aluminum, it has some good dings, but always protected pedals well

Yeah, I like mine ok, but the hinges have really begun to bug me. I have the 50-something. It's pretty damn big.

I like how the testimonials are all 10 years old.

But really, I it doesn't just completely fall apart the moment you set it down, I think that would be worth that price tag.

I'd definitely consider it for myself if I had money to spend now.
