i played a sexy ass Guild Starfire II at gc today. it was used. dont know too much about them but it played fucking nice.

Yeah I was kinda surprised. The neck was majorly nice and it was just a pleasure to play, really.

Ooooh. I'm just waiting to find that one guitar like that, that actually makes me get one of the gc credit cards. I'm glad mine never has anything cool. Except one of those 80's LP customs with the yellow binding, but it was way out of my price range (even with credit).

Was the price on that $899? If that is a 90's Starfire from the Westerly RI factory, grab that fast! I have a Blues 90 from the same era and the neck on it is so sweet, it has ruined playing other guitars for me. I've wanted a Starfire II or III ever since I got my Blues 90.

The old Guild Starfire basses are tits.

There's a BADASS guitar player in Atlanta by the name of R.L. Martin that plays one of these extensively. He busts out everything from Elvis licks to heavy rock n' roll chug a chug chug stuff on it. Very versatile instrument, some of the best sounds I've ever heard out of a guitar.

I really like this model too... don't know how is the reissue? Anybody tried one?
