in an effort to avoid lawsuits, rather than use breakbeats in little rhythms, i have been cutting them up to the point of isolation
kick, snare, cymbal (rarely)
and then pitch adjusting, adding compression, eq. and then sometimes a little chorus or something.
goin back to houston
to get me some pants

Beck is an awkward cock-face but Odelay is forever in my heart.

NOVOCAINE!
mellow gold will always be my favorite of his though. bought that on my 7th grade trip to DC when i couldn't buy it in ohio due to parental advisory age laws.

couldn't in ohio but could in the nation's capital. so stupid.

or maybe it was 8th grade... hmm... that's a funny memory, didn't think i got into good music until 9th...

the only fuzzbox i hear on this album is the maestro fuzztone. it's pretty dominant. i.e. the opening of devils haircut

Haven't listened to any Beck in a while. I remember only liking 3 or 4 songs off of Mellow Gold, but man those songs are awesome! My sister took me to see Beck on the Odelay tour. The Cardigans opened and they were boring as fuck. Needless to say, Beck was not boring as fuck.
I lived in Virginia when I was in 6, 7, and 8th grade. I tried to buy Tool- Opiate, the cashier blocked me. Cashier blocked me again when I tried to buy Megadeth- So Far So Good So What. It was supposed to be a B-day present for my friend, bitch!!!!!!!!! I successfully bought NIN- The Downward Spiral. The cashier was just a few years older than me and she was all like, "This is a great album, have fun with it!" I remember sneaking a few cd's by because the parental advisory sticker was on the plastic wrap instead of the cd case.
What's up with Beck's bass player being a scientologist, fuck that guy!

I thought Beck himself was a scientologist. Makes me a bit uneasy about him as a person but I still love his music.

Yeah he is a scientologist. Psychopathetic soul manure has alway been my favorite. I have been listening to that and mellow gold a lot lately. Satan gave me a taco!
